Last summer I purchased my first pair of Birkenstocks. I bought the Mayari style sandals.

Within the first two months of using them the cork was splitting where the straps meet the sandals on the sides. Within the next two months after this, the leather on the heel was disintegrating and the sueded footbed started to peel off. Finally after the next two months, the toe strap ripped off like paper. After six months of light use, and not my only pair of shoes being used they were tossed in the trash!

Paid $100 for a lie.

Don't buy the lie that these are good quality shoes. They are ugly and just a fashion trend shoe now.

My first pairs would last several years. New ones barely make it 6 months now. It sucks because I want the sandals I had in the 90s when they were high quality stuff.
